Our education and outreach programs are a vital part of our work at the Barn; engaging with the young people of our community through an education in the performing arts is of utmost importance to us. In order to maintain our connection to you during this time when we cannot gather in person, we have developed these online programs to find new ways to continue that engagement with the young artists, performers, and technicians in our community.

We aim to continue offering excellent training opportunities, based on the online streaming platforms currently in use in schools across the country. We are thrilled to use these technologies to create new kinds of learning and build new skills. This is also an opportunity for students to engage with us from a broader geographical area. It is our goal to continue engaging these young people to develop their own creativity and problem-solving skills, while supporting them with the transformative power of theater in these difficult times.

Our 2020 Children's Theater Series was performed ONLINE!

We at the Barn believe an education in the performing arts should be available and accessible to everyone. We know many people are currently dealing with loss of income and financial instability in light of COVID-19 and the subsequent economic disruptions. So it is with great pride that we offer Tuition Assistance at any level needed.

We know how meaningful theater can be, and we understand the impact of that shared experience. Especially in these difficult times, coming together to sing, act, design, and laugh can be transformative.

Tuition assistance is available thanks to a generous donation from Bar Harbor Bank and Trust with a shared commitment to make theater education accessible to all. Please email before registering for our education programs to discuss full and partial tuition assistance options.

Technology assistance has also been made available through the generosity of Mount Royal Academy. Thanks to our friends at Mount Royal Academy, we have Chromebooks available for families who need to borrow them to participate in our programs. Please email us at to discuss this option!
