K–4TH GRADE PLAY

Tuesdays/Fridays
3:30–5:30 PM
January 16 – February 23

Wayside School is a wacky place where the classrooms are stacked vertically, and teachers have been turning students into apples. This play, based on the book by Louis Sachar, follows the misadventures of students on the 30th floor, who are dealing with absurd problems like talking pigtails and only being able to read while standing upside down. Join us for a delightful journey through a school where the unexpected is the norm, and laughter is guaranteed.

Tuition: $150
Every student who registers will get a role.

Performance: Saturday, March 2 @ 4:00 PM
Tickets: $15

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

February 26–March 2
Kearsarge February Break
2–8 PM (M–F), 9–4 (S)

When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, Elle takes matters into her own hands, charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate Emmett and spunky hairdresser Paulette along the way, Elle begins outsmarting her peers and realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

Our production of Legally Blonde will focus on intensive vocal work and dance choreography, with simple staging and design elements. Students whose school districts do not have the same break as Kearsarge are welcome to join rehearsals after their school releases each day.

Tuition: $200

AUDITION INFORMATION

Everyone who registers for Legally Blonde Jr. will get a part, but we will hold auditions to determine roles on Sunday, February 18 from 2:00–4:00pm in the Fleming Center. Performers will be asked to sing one of the 4 selected cuts from the show. The folder of song cuts and tracks can be found below. There will also be a brief dance call. No monologues are required for this audition, and tech/design students do not need to audition or interview or this production. Email education@nlbarn.org with any questions.

Tuition: $150
Every student who registers will get a role.

Students from New London and Warner enrolled in As You Like It are eligible to get free transportation to and from rehearsal if needed. Email education@nlbarn.org or opt into the transportation program during registration to receive a survey where you can indicate your transportation needs. More information here.

K–5TH GRADE MUSICAL

April 22–27
Kearsarge April Break
9:00 AM–Noon

In this hilarious musical adaptation of David Shannon’s book, Camilla thinks she must choose between her favorite food (lima beans) and the acceptance of those around her. But the harder she tries to conform to other people’s opinions, the more miserable (and colorfully striped) she becomes. A Bad Case of the Stripes invites us to find peace and acceptance with ourselves and others.

Though there will be some tech elements, this intensive will focus on technique over spectacle.
